What is Virginia Schedule OSC form?

Virginia Schedule OSC is a supplemental schedule that should be attached to Virginia Tax Form 760. It is used for the residents of Virginia working in other states to claim a credit for taxes paid to those states. This schedule will help you avoid dual taxation of the income from another state by the state of Virginia.

Why I need Virginia Schedule OSC?

You need to complete Virginia Schedule OSC for the following purposes:

• To claim a credit for taxes paid to the state you got your earned income from;
• To claim a credit for taxes paid to the state you got your business income from;
• To apply for a credit for taxes paid to the state you got your profit from the sale of some capital asset that was not used in business or trade.

However, you do not need this schedule in case you receive income from these states: Oregon, California, Arizona, or the District of Columbia.
