What is a Vulnerable Sector Check?

The Ontario Vulnerable Sector Check is a two-page document by which the applicant authorizes the Canadian Police to initiate a check against them. Such a check must be passed to obtain a work permit or sign up to volunteer and work with the so-called “vulnerable people.” You will also need to attach your Declaration of Criminal Record (LE229).

What do I need the Vulnerable Sector Check for?

• If you plan to get a job and help a vulnerable person, you must pass a police check for crimes committed, charges, offenses, etc.
• Even if you plan to work as a volunteer, i.e., without payment, you also need to complete the Vulnerable Sector Check Online Canada and wait for the results of the check.
• This form, like the check itself, is mandatory when working with temporarily or permanently vulnerable categories of people.

How to Fill Out the LE220E Form?

1. Read on what points your case will be checked. If you agree to the terms, enter your full name (including maiden name and any other versions if you have ever changed your name), gender, date of birth, residential address, and contact details.
2. Next, list all addresses where you have lived in the last five years. If you have not changed the address and it matches the one you wrote in the first paragraph, skip this block.
3. Indicate the purpose for which you complete this form by identifying your position and briefly describing your future responsibilities.
4. Read your data processing policy and sign the paper.
5. The police officer fills in the rest and grants or denies you a work permit based on the verification carried out.
