Fillable Form 1099-NEC is a form that is used to report any form of compensation given to a person who is not listed as an employee of the company. The report of payments was separated by the IRS from the 1099-MISC document.

You will need to fill out Form 1099-NEC if:

  • There were payments to nonemployees;
  • The payments were made for course that is related to your business;
  • The payments were made to corporation;
  • The payments to the receiver are $600 or more in total (during the year);
  • The payments were made to attorneys.

How to fill out Fillable Form 1099-NEC?

While filling out Fillable Form 1099-NEC, you will have to specify a few main aspects:

  • The information about the payer is required;
  • The information about the receiver is required;
  • Specify the amount of compensation to the nonemployee.
  • Specify federal income tax withheld.

The payer and the receiver should specify their names, addresses, and taxpayers IDs. The box 1 allows you to specify the amount of money that was compensated during the past tax year. You can print Fillable FOrm 1099-NEC or fill it out electronically via IRS.
