Does the SSS still issue UMID cards?
No. A 2025 circular of the Social Security System (CI2025-008) speaks of "effectively discontinuing the issuance of generic UMID Cards and UMID Pay Cards." The SSS page about the new card says: "Equipped with an EMV chip, it replaces the old UMID card." It also says: "Yes, all previously issued SSS cards are still valid."
How do you apply for the MySSS Card?
The circular says: "Applications for MySSS Card shall be filed online directly with the SSS or through the PFI". The SSS page describes the steps through the My.SSS member portal and the bank you choose.
