PA MV-140 is a form meant to start the process of renewing your vehicle registration in the state of Pennsylvania. The state requires all vehicle owners to update their registration annually to ensure their vehicle is legal and roadworthy.

When to Renew Pennsylvania Vehicle Registration?

It expires on the last day of the month it was initially registered. For example, if your vehicle was initially registered in June, then your registration will expire on June 30th of the following year. 

You should renew your registration before it expires to avoid late fees or penalties. You can start the process as early as six months before it expires.

How to Renew Vehicle Registration PA?

There are three ways to do this:

1. Online renewal.

This is the quickest and most convenient option. You can renew your registration online through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) website. To complete the process, you will need your vehicle registration renewal notice and a valid credit card.

2. In-person renewal.

You can visit a PennDOT office near you if you prefer to renew your registration in person. You should bring your vehicle registration renewal notice, proof of insurance, and payment for the registration fee.

3. Mail renewal.
