Fillable Form I-407, also known as the Record of Abandonment of Lawful Permanent Resident Status that was created by the U.S Department of Homeland Security.

You will have to use the Fillable Form I-407 in order to:

  • Record your wish of abandonment of status as a LPR (lawful permanent resident) of the USA.

You can use the document when:

  • You are currently outside the USA or at a Port of Entry and want to abandon your LPR status.
  • You want to record your prior abandonment of LPR status.

How to fill out the Fillable Form I-407?

After you open the document, you have to fill out your alien registration number, your name, USCIS Online Account Number (if any), your current legal name, state other information, as, for example, your date of birth, country of birth, etc. The mailing address outside the US should be also specified.

Write down the city, street number, postal code, country, and email address. The mailing address outside of the US should be also written in the language where you reside. Documents returned and location of submission should be mentioned.

After that, you will have to fill out the second part of the document. There you will have to write the contact information of the interpreter, his or her certification, and signature. The address, street number and name, city, and other information about the interpreter should be specified. You also have to fill out the third part of the document. Read the instructions and fill out the form properly. The “U.S Government Official Information” should be specified.
