What is A101 Form? 

The A101 Form is a part of the AIA binding document. It establishes and defines relationships between the contractor and the owner. The main aim of this form is to balance the interests between the two parties.

You need to submit the A101 Form in the following cases:

  • You want to manage the relations between the contractor and the owner;
  • You want to show a construction project that does not exist today;

Filling out A101 Form 

The A101 Form is about eight pages long. So, be very attentive while filling the fields, as the filling out of the document has legal consequences. On the first page, you need to determine the Contractor, Owner, and Project name. Generally, A101 Form has 10 articles:

  • Work that is based on this Contract;
  • Commencement and Substantial completion dates;
  • The final Contract sum;
  • Additional payments;
  • Dispute resolutions;
  • Termination (or suspension, depending on the case);
  • Provisions of different kinds;

  • Insurance extract.
